Finally! Cold and rainy weather! I no longer believed it existed!

We’re in Stromness, Orkney waiting for our ferry. The terminal doesn’t open for a bit over an hour and the pub we had dinner at was nice, but we felt guilty taking up a table when there were people waiting for dinner seating so we left. There’s benches under shelter at the terminal so we’re bundled up and sitting there until they open it, listening to jackdaws and rooks as they wheel overhead and the car park lights turn on and the occasional drift of singing from the pub washes over us. Maybe if we’d just been through winter we’d hate it, but after Texas’ 110F temps all summer, it’s nice.
