You know how some houses have walk-in closets?

Our hotel room in Takayama has a walk-through closet.

The entrance door to the room opens onto a small antechamber with two doors. The sliding door goes into the bathroom and the hinged door goes into the room proper.

The closet in the room proper has a sliding door. And the back of the closet is also a sliding door that leads into the bathroom. There’s no worry about privacy, as the are it leads into contains a sink and storage, while you oh through another hinged door to get to a full bathroom with sink, tub, and toilet. ( So I guess the area the closet leads to is more of a dressing room, but you get the idea.)
